All CMS applications come with one year of maintenance, which includes unlimited free software upgrades by internet download. As long as the one year Maintenance Subscription is current, the software can be updated via internet downloads. Yearly Maintenance Subscriptions are available at a nominal cost but are not required for the proper operation of the software. Without a current Maintenance Subscription the CMS programs still operate fully, except that web updates by internet download will no longer work until the Maintenance Subscription is renewed. There is a menu option in the program menu that allows you to check for updates as often as desired. Each CMS software program will automatically check for updates once per week. Updates include new program features, updated documentation, and updated help files. CMS software is typically updated one or more times per month. However, before the advent of web updates our only method of distributing changes was by mailing a CD. Obviously we did not do that for minor changes such as spelling error corrections, so most users only received one or two major updates per year. Now even the most minor change as well as updates that change program functions or add features can be sent out by web update to all our users in a single day. Unlike many software companies, we do not limit your free upgrades to the major version that was in use when you started using our software. For example, many companies say that if you started with version 5.x you can get all updates to version five in the next year, but the minute version 6 is released you have to buy an upgrade. NOT CMS! We do not play those games. If we go all the way from version 5 to version 8 in the year, you will get every one of those versions so long as your Maintenance Subscription is current.
