All CMS products use standard Visual dBase data files and standard Visual dBase index files.
These files can be opened in other programs, but doing so often leaves the files in a corrupted state. It is recommended that you open a copy of the data files if you are using any programs other than Visual dBase version 2.61.
If you have special data access needs with the CMS program data files, our tech support staff can assist you in doing so in a safe way that will not compromise your data.
Our tech support staff can also build a custom data export routine for you that will present the data in the format you need for your applications.
Data import is a more complex issue. If you have large quantities of data in some other format (such as an Excel spreadsheet) and do not want to retype that data into our programs, contact tech support for a quote on building a custom import routine for you.
