Error Message containing the statement:
ERR 1003 Variable Does Not Exist OPENSCR
The OPENSCR variable acts as a signal to the selected program to bypass its opening screens and begin program execution immediately.
A corrupt MENUSET.MEM file will cause this error in the CMS MENU program. The MEM file should be 34 bytes long, no more, no less. (For Dbase users: it should contain only one variable: OPENSCR of type logical and the value is usually .F.).
Delete the MENUSET.MEM file and the program will rebuild the file when the program is restarted.
To start the CMS Menu program, type CMS, not CMSMENU. The CMS.BAT file ensures that the system always returns to the CMSMENU.EXE program after executing the selected program. If CMSMENU is entered to start, the menu program will not restart after running a selection and the program MAY work improperly.
The CMS MENU files must be installed in their own directory.
