Cannot Swap Out To ..... Cannot Swap out to X:\RRIDx.SWP R&R cannot or will not build the swap file needed for printing. There are several possible causes.
1. Not enough DOS Memory 2. There is not enough disk space. 3. The PC was turned off while running a report or the PC stopped running due to a power failure. This leaves behind a temporary file. 4. Computer hardware problems. 5. Virus.
1. Not enough DOS memory. The total amount of memory in the machine is irrelevant in the DOS version of the program. Use MEM or CHKDSK to find out how much FREE DOS memory iis available. Must be over 380K. 2. Not enough disk space. Use DIR or CHKDSK to determine the amount of free disk space. Should be several megabytes. At least 4.5 Megabytes is recommended. 3. Existing swap file. The error message may list a swap file name (such as RRIDx.SWP) as in the example at the beginning of this note. If it does, look for that file in the listed directory on the specified drive. If found, type DELETE *.SWP this will delete any "left-over" swap files. 4. Bad Hard Disk, etc. If there is a corrupt FAT table or other hard disk problem then R&R could be prevented from writing the swap file. (Use CHKDSK to test this) On networks this can happen if the user write permissions are not set correctly. 5. There could be a virus. Use a virus detection/removal program.
