Easy Staging of Data Files for Backup to CDR!
PROGRAM FEATURES:
This application is designed for use with the normal 650MB CD ROM writers on the market. You can use it to back up entire hard disk drives, or volumes on a LAN server up to 7.6GB of active data.
Most CD Writer software packages support drag and drop of the items that you want to stage on a single CD to be created. The problem arises in that it is difficult to get the right mix of files and directories to make best use of the CD space. CD Stage takes the approach of replicating your current directory structure in a series of temporary directories that are as close as possible to the 650MB limit. You then drag and drop these temporary staged directories to the CD writer s oftware to make your CD backup/archive.
This application does require at least 680MB of free disk space for staging of CD material for a single CD on any drive letter. You can stage more than one CD and still use only 680 MB of space! This application only stages the data to be backed up onto a CD, and does not replace your current CD writer software. If it is not possible to stage certain files because they are open for Read/Write address, you will be given a list of the files that were skipped during the staging process.
